Warranty Information
Our 10-Year Corten Warranty
Because great landscapes deserve more than “she’ll be right.”
What the Warranty Covers
Product Family | Coverage | Plain-English Promise |
---|---|---|
![]() |
10 years against perforation, structural weld failure, or base-plate separation. | Your planter keeps its shape and stays watertight (except the drainage holes you asked for). |
![]() |
10 years against distortion or seam failure. | They’ll stay round (or square) and keep the root zone exactly where it belongs. |
![]() |
10 years against burn-through, cracking, or weld failure. | Light the fire, not the warranty paperwork. |
![]() |
10 years against structural failure. | If it bends, splits, or breaks under normal use, we’ll sort it. |
What’s Not Covered - the fine print
- Normal surface patina - Corten is meant to rust; that evolving orange-brown armour is the point.
- Cosmetic scratches, minor dents, or colour variation - character, not a defect.
- Damage from caustic chemicals or “spray-and-leave” cleaners - products like Wet & Forget, Spray & Walk Away, bleach, acids, or any harsh solution can strip the patina and invite corrosion. If we see the tell-tale residue, we reserve the right to decline replacement.
- Damage from misuse - dropping a fire bowl off a ute, forklift jousting, or using acid to “speed-rust” (please don’t).
- Third-party modifications - if Uncle Bazza welds a BBQ plate on, the warranty ends where his weld begins.
- Acts of God - cyclones, earthquakes, and inquisitive livestock beyond the fence line.
How the Warranty Works
- Spot an Issue: Send a photo and your order number to sales@tinyanvil.co.nz.
- We Assess: Kurt (plus a coffee) reviews it and gets back to you within three business days.
- We Repair or Replace: If it’s warrantable, we’ll repair it in Penrose or send a brand-new replacement at our cost.
- Back in the Garden: You keep planting, grilling, or admiring - warranty clock resets to the original 10-year term.
FAQs
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my house?
Yes — the steel doesn’t care who owns it. Just pass on the original order details.
Will grinding or drilling void the warranty?
Only if it compromises a structural weld or leaves sharp edges. Small drainage holes and discreet anchor points are fine.
What about NZ consumer law?
Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 — we simply extend them.
